The Golden Path is a 30-episode drama serial. Set in 1982 and spanning 25 years, it tells the story of a family embroiled in conflicts of interest, webs of deceit, love, hatred and vengeance. The drama was produced by MediaCorp in celebration of the company's 25 years of local Chinese drama production and incorporates scenes from past dramas such as The Seletar Robbery, The Flying Fish, Pretty Faces, Turn of the Tide, Finishing Lines, The Last Applause, Stepping Out, The Golden Pillow and Holland V. The serial was telecast on MediaCorp TV Channel 8, from 11 December 2007, weekdays at 9:00pm. The series finale aired on 21 January 2008.

Far away in the universe, a planet AMIKUS is facing serious pollution and a depletion of its natural resources. Chen Feng Jiao (Carrie Wong) is tasked with seeking a new livable planet and to locate the whereabouts of a defector TA1-2345. To blend in with the Earthlings, Feng Jiao and her comrades disguise themselves as a typical Singaporean family and everyone is assigned a “human” name. Living next to the Yang family, Feng Jiao and Yang Tian Sheng (Shaun Chen) share a mutual dislike for each other which eventually turns into love. While Chen Xiang Lin (Aloysius Pang) kisses Yang Tian Ning (Paige Chua) and the latter becomes pregnant! Another neighbor Zhou Zhi Qiang discovers the true identities of the Chens and uses it to take advantage of Chen Xiao Long (Brandon Wong). Yuan Yingcai (Desmond Tan), a teacher working at an art school, suddenly commits suicide. His death causes an uproar in the school. He had a promising future ahead of him. Why would he kill himself?
