The peaceful life of the residents of the coastal urbanization of Belmonte changes radically the day a sex video of Macarena, a school teacher, and Iván, one of her adult students, appears on the networks. This event shakes the lives of all of them, especially Macarena, who is repudiated by her family and neighbors, including Ana, her best friend and Iván's mother. Things in the town get even more complicated when the lifeless body of one of Belmonte's inhabitants appears on the cliff. Whose body is it? Vientos de agua is a 2006 cult Argentine- Spanish mini TV series created by Juan José Campanella. The drama traces a Spaniard's emigration to Argentina in the 1930s, and, years later, his son's return to modern-day Spain. It aired in Spain in January 2006, on Telecinco for only one series of 13 episodes. While a hit in Argentina, because of lower ratings in Spain it was taken out of the prime-time slot to 1.00 in morning, and was eventually cancelled due to downloading of series from the internet. Despite a campaign of support to continue into a second series it only produced 13 episodes. Despite this the series was a hit in DVD sellings.

El Hormiguero is a Spanish television program with a live audience focusing on comedy, science, and politics running since September 2006. It is hosted and produced by screenwriter Pablo Motos. The show aired on Spain's Cuatro channel from launch until June 2011 and is now broadcast on Antena 3. Recurring guests on the show include Luis Piedrahita, Raquel Martos, Marron & "The Man in Black", and puppet ants Trancas and Barrancas. It has proved a ratings success, and has expanded from a weekly 120-minute show to a daily 40-minute show in its third season, which began on September 17, 2007. The show won the Entertainment prize at the 2009 Rose d'Or ceremony.

La Chica de Ayer is a Spanish television series which first aired on the channel Antena 3 between 26 April and 14 June 2009. A detective show, it was based on the British series Life on Mars which featured a policeman suddenly transported back to 1973. The Spanish version of the show was set four years later, in 1977, and took its name from the Spanish song "La Chica de Ayer" by Nacha Pop in a similar manner to the British version which was named after the David Bowie song "Life on Mars". It featured Ernesto Alterio in the role of Samuel Santos, a modern-day police officer who finds himself in 1977 post-Franco Spain under the command of Quin Gallardo, a tough old-school policeman contemptuous of his modern methods.
