This story focuses on a married couple and their search for happiness as a family. Akemi becomes pregnant, Seiichi eventually divorces his wife and marries her. Despite their passionate romance before marriage, now Seiichi does not look at or think of Akemi as "a woman". Part of Seiichi's reason has to do with the fact that he again goes out with his former wife Ritsuko, cheating on Akemi. When Akemi notices what Seiichi is thinking, she meets Yusaku Shirube, a police detective. Akemi and Yusaku eventually have a love affair that night, comforting their wounded hearts. This one-night love affair is to be a start for perfect love.

Maria is in need of money. Because her day-time job doesn't pay enough, she works at night at a cabaret. She needs the money so that she can pay for her sister, Nana's eyes operation. When both Maria and Nana were younger, Maria burned down the home, causing her sister's blindness and killing their father (mother survived.) Shiro is a famous concert pianist. However, he isn't happy with his marriage or his life in general. Maria and Shiro are united through a traffic accident, causing Shiro to be hospitalized. Faking amnesia and his identity, he stays at Maria's place and eventually starts to work at the cabaret as a piano player. As you will find out later on, life was not meant for Maria and Shiro to find one another.

Bengoshi no Kuzu is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Hideo Iura about Takeda Masami, a new lawyer and fellow lawyer Kuzu Motohito, who Takeda is teamed up with, and how they deal with different court cases. It was serialized in Big Comic Original. Bengoshi no Kuzu received the Shogakukan Manga Award for seinen/general category in 2007. The manga was adapted into a 12-episode TV drama, which was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System between April 13, 2006 and June 29, 2006.

In 1947, a year heavily tinged by the scars of war, Kitazawa Taro, Mitamura Kiichi, Arikawa Nobuo and other fellow poets who would play a central role in post-war Japan’s modern poetry movement gathered for the launch of the poetry magazine ‘Arechi’. 28 years later in 1975, a 53-year-old Kitazawa works at a newspaper’s proofreading department as he continues scrape by composing poetry. Although he is not prolific as a poet, he cherishes ordinary happiness every day surrounded by his wife Haruko and their daughter Yuko and son Sho. But a big turning point comes for Kitazawa one day.
