What side is love on? Vera and Rodrigo are absolutely passionate about each other and get married, having João as the product of their love. But, like any other marriage, their relationship has its ups and downs between intense passion and their differing life views. Vera is a up and coming lawyer and Rodrigo an agronomy engineer. She's an urban woman who doesn’t do well in a rural environment while he loves the country and bulls, not too keen on city life. At the center of this story is Aurora Guerra, a popular actress who became a star in the teen series "The Chosen Ones" at an early age. Lúcia has the same dream: to be a successful actress and decides to apply for the casting as well, but she soon realizes Irene's scheme and decides to confront her. Twenty years later, Lucia is determined to take revenge. Inside, the Government’s chief, Marcelo Caetano, waited, surrounded by the military and the people. The man who stared at him that afternoon and demanded surrender, guaranteeing his safety, had just led Santarém’s Artillery 1 regiment in taking the capital. Without firing a single shot, he managed to overthrow a regime that was over 48 years old. That was the last step to take and he took it, without hesitation, becoming the unavoidable figure of the day that marked the beginning of democracy in Portugal.

Álvaro and Maria do Carmo lived happily in Angola. He was a successful businessman and she was a mild mannered housewife.
