Late Night! The Genius Bakabon (2018)
Tensai Bakabon has been off the airwaves for almost 20 years! What's a Papa to do in dire times like the late 2010s? How about break every rule in the anime books, throw in celebrity guests, and take a nonsensical peek into the little things in modern life like otome games, blind dates, and the possibility that a series from the Showa era could make it to now! Is this really how it should be?!

Rerere no Tensai Bakabon (1999)
Bakabon and his Papa turn common sense on its head. After all, most of the common sense that we take for granted isn't just nonsensical, but often comical. Join Bakabon and the family as common sense not just headstands, but backflips into the strange, absurd, and downright idiotic!

Osomatsu-kun (1966)
The first animated adaptation of the 1960s gag manga series, focusing on the adventures of the identical 10-year-old Matsuno sextuplets, led by the titular brother himself. Aside from the Matsunos, the series also showcases the tales of their rival Chibita, and the constantly job-switching conman Iyami.

Tensai Bakabon (1971)
Based on Fujio Akatsuka's subversive family comedy, the series follows naive 10-year-old Bakabon and his folks: Papa, the patriarch and idiot supreme, Mama, Bakabon's darling mother and voice of reason, and Hajime, the newly-born baby boy who, due to being in the womb for an extended period, gained super-intelligence and an extensive bevy of worldly knowledge. Much of the comedy revolves around the idiotic natures of Bakabon and his Papa, and the people who have to put up with it.

Ganso Tensai Bakabon (1975)
If the first Bakabon series wasn't the "original", then what could Ganso Tensai Bakabon hope to achieve? How about wilder and more dangerous stories, stranger and crazier new characters, and a Papa who's more idiotic than ever? With a "koredeiinoda!" to end his bizarre escapades, this take on Fujio Akatsuka's classic series set the standard for all adaptations to come, and put the anarchic energy of the original manga into animation!
