Whammy! is an American television game show that aired new episodes on Game Show Network from April 15, 2002 to December 5, 2003. The program is updated version of Press Your Luck, which originally aired on CBS from 1983–86. Reruns of Whammy! have aired since production of new episodes stopped in 2003, and the program currently airs in reruns on GSN weekend mornings at 9:30am Eastern/8:30am Central. The series was taped at Tribune Studios and was hosted by Todd Newton, with Gary Kroeger announcing.

In each half-hour episode of IDIOT TEST, two pairs of contestants with a preexisting rivalry in anything from colleges (i.e. UCLA vs USC) to sci fi (i.e. “Star Trek” fans vs. “Star Wars” fans), face off to determine once and for all, which teams of two are the true “Idiots.” The rival pairs will go head to head in several rounds of rapid-fire questions whose answers any “idiot” should know: the questions, taken from the game, test observation and attention to detail as much as they test general knowledge. The contestant pairs will really need to be on their toes to come out on top. This incarnation of the word-association game show that dates back, in various forms, to the early '80s is hosted by radio personality Mike Catherwood ("Loveline"). The premise is simple: two teams try to complete chains of seven words. The first and last word in each chain are revealed, and the contestants must guess the missing words, with one letter being revealed each turn. Each link in the chain forms a compound word or phrase with the word before and/or after it. Teams earn money for each word they guess correctly, and the team with the most money at the end of the game goes on to the bonus round, dubbed the Super Chain, for a chance to add an additional $5,000 to the total the team won during the main part of the game.
