What feeds the feeling of unease and division? In the four-volume series Onbehagen by Human and VPRO, he investigates why the ideals of our civilisation are coming under increasing pressure. Discussions with thinkers, historians and scientists and the use of special archival material are in the service of Heijne's argument.
