The Joulukalenteri was a 1997 Finnish television miniseries produced by MTV3 that was broadcast again in 1998. It was based on the Danish series The Julekalender from 1991. A Norwegian version was made in 1994. The series came out in December 1997 with one episode per day, concluding on Christmas Eve. The original concept and script of the series, as well as its numerous songs came from the Danish trio of De Nattergale. The Finnish adaptation was directed by Jukka Virtanen and starred Seppo Korjus, Kari Lehtomäki, Raimo Smedberg and Jukka Virtanen. In December 2007 there was a rerun on Subtv and now a DVD and a CD which contains the songs played in the series, can be bought on a special web-site.

Karpolla on asiaa was a popular Finnish television show with a journalistic touch. It was hosted by reporter Hannu Karpo and produced by his Pallosalama OY production company. The show ran from 1981 to 2007 on MTV3. The show also featured occasional appearances by Karpo's son, Sampo. The show's essential idea was that Karpo would report on the various things he saw wrong about Finnish society and have "the people's story heard" by reporting how certain people in Finnish society were suffering from public oversight and abuse, and were unable to do anything to resolve their predicament. Karpo would famously and openly award his interviewees with piece of smoked reindeer or an encased 100 mk bill for speaking out.

Kymmenen uutiset is the main news program of MTV3, broadcast daily at 10:00 p.m. From 1993 to 2008, Kymmenen uutiset was broadcast every evening at 10:00 p.m. except on Mondays, when it was broadcast already at 9:00 p.m. as Yhdeksän uutiset because of a following film. Nowadays, Kymmenen uutiset is broadcast at 10:00 p.m. even on Mondays, and the film is instead broadcast on MTV3's sister channel Sub. Heikoin Lenkki was the Finnish version of the internationally recognized show The Weakest Link, which debuted on BBC Two in August 2000. It was hosted by journalist Kirsi Salo. It premiered in 2002, but after three years, the show was axed due to the host's pregnancy. It was shown on the MTV3 network on Fridays at 8:35 am. Originally, nine contestants played for a prize of €15,000, but that was changed to eight players competing for €18,000.

Levyraati was a Finnish television show which ran from the 1961–1992 originally on YLE and starting from 1992 on MTV3. It was based on the British Juke Box Jury. The show was originally hosted by Jaakko Jahnukainen and for a brief period by Vesa Nuotio. However, the show was most famously hosted by Jukka Virtanen from 1980 till 1997 when the show went on a five year hiatus. For its 2002–2003 run it was hosted by Raakel Lignell and later by Ruben Stiller. The show has been on unspecified hiatus since 2005. In the program Finnish celebrities would rate recordings and, in later years, music videos with a score from 1 to 10. With four guests in the panel the maximum score was 40 and the winning song or video would be performed during the ending credits. One of the panel members was a frequent guest placed among three weekly guests.
