Come Date With Me (AU) (2013)
Come Date With Me is the dating version of the successful UK and Australian reality competition program, Come Dine with Me and features six groups of hopeful singles with each group appearing for five episodes. The Come Date With Me week begins with one ‘feature’ girl who has been matched to five single guys. They are all invited to her home for a dinner party, and she meets them for the first time at her front door. At the end of this first night she must eliminate one of her bachelors from the competition. For the rest of the week, the remaining four guys take it in turns to host a dinner party in the evening, taking the ‘feature’ girl out on a date during the day. She scores the dates and the dinner parties out of 10 but keeps the scores to herself. At the end of the week the ‘feature’ announces the winner, who receives $1,000 cash to take her on a luxury date. Across the series, we see three girls and three guys become the ‘feature’, each being chased by five members of the opposite sex. Although the participants are all serious about finding a partner, it’s meant to be a fun process. The ‘matches’ are naturally competitive with each other in a good-humoured way, and sabotage at a rivals dinner party table is encouraged. Some take it more seriously than others! The Come Date With Me narration style is cheeky and irreverent, but serious dating and relationships issues are discussed as the groups gets more comfortable with each other across the week. What the ‘feature’ has to work out with all this dinner party chatter, and dating action, is who is he/she most compatible with and who is genuinely looking for romance. The ‘feature’ can change one of the scores at any time if she/he has a valid reason. This keeps the jeopardy across the week as to who will be chosen on the final night. There’s no reason you can’t meet the ‘love of your life’ on a TV reality show!!

Aussie Millions (2005)
Poker at Crown was introduced in June 1997 with the first major championship, then known as the Australasian Poker Championship, held shortly after in July 1998. The Main Event was a $1,000 buy in Limit Holdem tournament that attracted 74 entries with a $74,000 prize pool. The Crown Australian Poker Championship or the ‘Aussie Millions’ as it became known, moved to January in 2001, attracting 40 entrants with a $5,000 buy in for a prize pool of $200,000. January 2003 saw the event go truly international, attracting a field of 122 entrants and a $1.2m prize pool. In January 2005, the Aussie Millions reached new heights with a record 263 participants paying $10,000 each to enter the No Limit Holdem Main Event, generating the biggest prize pool ever in the Southern Hemisphere of $2,630,000. Over half the field was from overseas including players from New Zealand, England, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, USA, Sweden, Holland, Canada, Italy and Lebanon. In 2006 the Aussie Millions proved itself as one of the world’s top multi-million dollar Poker events when 418 players competed for a slice of the AUD$4,18,000 prize pool including some of the biggest names in the Poker world. The 2007 Aussie Millions again exceeded all expectations with main event player numbers increasing by over 70% year on year, attracting 747 entrants, with high profile pro player Gus Hansen winning the event and collecting the $1.5 million first prize.

Waterfront (AU) (1984)
In 1928, there is the spectre of the Great Depression, increasingly rancorous class divisions, industrial disputes and rising unemployment. As the politicians watch for the most opportune moments to call and win an election, waterside workers around the country strike. Eventually, all except those in Melbourne return to work, the strike broken by the bosses' employment of unwitting Italian labourers, who, like the Australian workers, are hungry for work. As the Melbourne wharfies continue to strike, too innocent and eager to consider that their struggle might be used as a pawn in a bigger, more sinister game, the issues of racism and survival are brought to the fore. Among this complex analysis of race and class are a wharfie, Maxey Woodbury (Jack Thompson) and an upper-class Italian migrant Anna Chieri (Greta Scacchi), whose roles encapsulate the situation at large.

The Box (1974)
The Box is an Australian soap opera that ran on ATV-0 from 11 February 1974 until 11 October 1977 and on 0–10 Network affiliates around Australia. The Box was produced by Crawford Productions who at the time was having great success producing police drama series in Australia. The Box was Crawford's first soap opera, and was launched as a reaction to the enormous success of the rival adult soap opera Number 96. The Box was a drama set in fictional television station UCV Channel 12. It featured elements that satirised the Australian television industry. Characters in the series were said to be modelled on Australian television figures of the day, and many self-referential elements featured. Like Number 96 the series was famous for its adult storylines, frequent nude glimpses, and sexual content. 603 episodes were produced. It ran from February 1974 until 1977.
