Otvorena vrata, is a Serbian comedy television series filmed in 1994-1995. Broadcast on state television RTS, it ran for 2 seasons featuring a regular family living in Belgrade during the 1990s. The show was created by Biljana Srbljanović and Miloš Radović, starring Vesna Trivalić, Milan Gutović, Bogdan Diklić, Nikola Đuričko, Sofija Jović, Bojana Maljević, Olivera Marković and Zoran Cvijanović, with guest stars such as: Mirjana Karanović, Nikola Simić, Seka Sablić, Branka Katić, Mira Stupica. The show had many reruns over the following years, and acquired a cult following. In spring of 2012, after the Serbian presidential election results were announced, Bojana Maljević announced on her Twitter account that she and Biljana Srbljanović were thinking about doing another season of the show. In the following days the idea of the third season was officially confirmed and members of the original cast started announcing that they would take part in the project.

Taking place just after the end of Bosnian War, the series is mostly set in a kafana named Složna braća owned by Halimić brothers and located on a small patch of UN-controlled territory (covering 0.0657 km2) not claimed by any of the three warring sides. Serbs, Bosniaks, and Croats, otherwise very hostile to each other following a ferocious civil war, regularly visit the said kafana in no man's land in order to arrange mutual black market activities (weapons and food trade, oil and cigarette smuggling, etc.). The eight-episode series follows the life of the writer Ivo Andrić during several months in the fall and winter of 1961, from the moment he found out he had won the Nobel Prize until he returned from the award ceremony, via Switzerland, to Belgrade. Each of the episodes has two parallel streams of narration: one, related to the year 1961, in which we follow Andrić's preparations for going to Stockholm, and the second, a subjective jump back to the past. Andrić's view of the key moments of his own life, which were almost always the key moments of the country where he lived and lives, the encounters and decisions he made, is full of questioning, doubts and re-evaluation.
