L'Aquila, September 2010. A year and a half after the earthquake that devastated the city, nothing has returned as before. The historic center, reduced to rubble and wrapped in an unreal silence, has become for all the inhabitants of L'Aquila the symbol of a continually postponed reconstruction. For everyone, except for Davide and his friends. 13-year-olds in search of adventure, they have made those abandoned neighborhoods a land of conquest, an open-air funfair where you can feel free, far from the eyes of parents. Children that the trauma has made stronger and at the same time vulnerable, will also witness their parents' lives, suddenly catapulted into a reality that appears precarious and hostile after the earthquake. The world of the "greats", regulated by different and much stricter laws, leaves no room for the saving power of imagination and imagination, nor for the playful dimension of adventure. The adults who are the protagonists of the story - whose stories intertwine and influence those of their children - must come to terms with their own lives that have fallen apart, forced to question everything, even the most deeply rooted certainties, to find identity new and new roles, as individuals and as citizens. Coming to understand, day after day, that rebuilding the city where they were born and raised, the churches and squares, the streets and the houses, basically means saving themselves.
