The Golden Palace begins where The Golden Girls had ended, in the quartet's now-sold Miami house. With Dorothy Zbornak having married and left in the previous series finale, the three remaining cast members (Dorothy's mother, Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund, and Blanche Devereaux) decide to invest in a Miami hotel that is up for sale. The hotel, however, is revealed to have been stripped of all of its personnel in an effort to appear more profitable, leaving only two employees: Roland Wilson, the hotel's manager, and Chuy Castillos, the hotel's chef. Carol & Company (1990)
Carol & Company is a comedy program airing on NBC-TV in the United States during 1990 and 1991. Carol & Company applied an unusual repertory approach to television comedy. Every week, Carol Burnett and her fellow players, Peter Krause, Jeremy Piven, Meagen Fay, Terry Kiser, Anita Barone, and Richard Kind, performed a different half-hour comedy playlet. Only the performers remained the same from week to week; there were no ongoing characters or plots, although there were guest stars from time to time; Betty White was one who made an appearance. In 1991, Carol's cohort, Tim Conway made a cameo appearance as audience member in an episode, "That Little Extra Something." Carol & Company began as a midseason replacement in January 1990, and was subsequently picked up for a full season and ran until July 1991. In 1990 Swoosie Kurtz won an Emmy for her appearance in the episode titled Reunion.

Style & Substance (1998)
Style & Substance was a television situation comedy that premiered on CBS July 22, 1998. The show starred Jean Smart as Chelsea Stevens, a Martha Stewart-like star of a how-to home show, and Nancy McKeon as her producer, Jane Sokol, a small-town girl new to New York City. Chelsea Stevens was an expert cook, decorator, and party planner who knew much more about thread-count than she did relationships. She was well-meaning at times, but her narcissism usually got in the way of actually understanding anyone else's problems.
