The year is 1991 and 6th grader Yaguchi Haruo only has video games to live for. He's not popular in school and he's neither handsome, funny, nice nor even friendly. The only thing he has going for him is that he is good at video games. One day at the local arcade, he plays Oono Akira, a fellow classmate but who's popular, smart, pretty and a rich girl that absolutely destroys him at Street Fighter II. Not only does he lose to her 30 times in a row, he can’t beat her at any game. Haruo can’t seem to shake Akira off as she follows him from arcade to arcade everyday after school and beats him every time. As weird as it sounds, the odd couple begins a strange bond and friendship.

Upon discovering ancient stones with dinosaur images imprinted on them, a 12-year-old boy named Max Taylor (Ryuta Kodai) and his friends Rex Owen and Zoe Drake (Malm Tatsuno), discover they are able to call forth dinosaur companions. Video & Arcade Top 10 is a Canadian game show broadcast on YTV from 1991 to 2006. Filmed in Toronto, Ontario, it is a competitive game show in which contestants played against each other in video games for prizes, with assorted review and profile segments on current games, music, and movies featured as well. V&A Top 10 is one of a select few English language Canadian game shows to run nationally for 15 years, joining Front Page Challenge, Reach For The Top, and Definition in that category. Reruns of this series from the late 1990s and 2000s have recently aired on GameTV.

45-year-old Reiji Watanabe visits his parents' home. His parents used to run an arcade. While there, Reiji fondly yearns for his friends Kido and Takano. Back in 1983, their family's arcade "Game Center Watanabe" was always full of customers, including neighborhood kids and salarymen. Reiji's friend Kido would come over to their arcade every day. Kido would spend most of his allowance on the games there. Reiji wasn't interested in the video games at the time, but after he saw a pretty girl named Takano playing, he also began to play. Reiji and Kido would then compete all the time. From 1983, Reiji, Kido and Takano enjoyed playing games and experienced good and bad times together.

Starcade is a game show where contestants compete against one another by playing arcade video games. The series originally aired on WTBS from 1982–1983, followed by a run in syndication for the following season. The series was first hosted by Mark Richards. Geoff Edwards replaced Richards after the first 23 shows, and continued until the show's cancellation.
