Gangland was a television series that aired on The History Channel. It usually aired on Thursday evenings although it has been known to arbitrarily change days every so often. Gangland explored the history of some of America's more notorious gangs. It premiered on November 1, 2007 with a special episode about the Aryan Brotherhood. The theme song was performed by Buckshot of the Boot Camp Clik. Reruns currently air on the cable channel Spike.

When James "Whitey" Bulger was murdered in prison in 2018, it marked the end of an era in Boston organized crime that dates to the 50's when Bulger was just another thug in the streets of 'Southie'. At the time, Boston was the site of heist so big it was dubbed The Crime of the Century. While Bulger was in prison in the 60's the Irish Gang War erupted with the infamous Winter Hill Gang coming out on top.

Outlaw Empires is a six-part documentary series about American outlaws. It was first aired on May 14, 2012, on Discovery Channel. Each episode focuses on one organization and includes dramatizations of real events and interviews with current and former members. In the biker episode, only former members are interviewed as patched members needed to get the approval of all other members from all other charters to appear on the show.
