Tin Man is a three-part American miniseries, a reimagining of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, with added science fantasy elements. Produced by RHI Entertainment for the Sci-Fi Channel, It focuses on small-town waitress DG, who is pulled into a magical realm called the O.Z. (Outer Zone), ruled by the tyrannical sorceress Azkadellia. Together with her companions Glitch, Raw, and Cain, DG journeys to uncover her lost memories, find her true parents, and foil Azkadellia's plot to trap the O.Z. in eternal darkness.

A young girl named Dorothy has gone to live with her grandparents on their small farm. One day when Dorothy is left alone in the house a tornado appears. Dorothy fails to get to the basement in time, and the entire house is picked up and transported to a magical land, falling on and killing a wicked witch. There she is informed by a good witch that she must travel to the Capital of Emerald and meet a great magician who may be able to help her find a way home. Along the way she makes some incredible friends and sees many strange and fantastic things.

Supêsu Ozu no bôken (English: The Wonderful Galaxy of Oz) is a 1992 anime sci-fi adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Produced by E&G Productions, the series aired on TV Tokyo in 26 episodes. It was later dubbed in English and heavily truncated to 75 minutes for an OVA, released in 1996. The year is 2060; Dorothy Gale and her mutant dog Talk-Talk have just been swept away from their home planet of New Kansas to a strange galaxy called Oz, where she befriends an unlikely band of heroes. Together, they're recruited to obtain three magic crystals to help the good Dr. Oz prevent the evil witch Glumilda from taking over the galaxy.

Tales of the Wizard of Oz, created in 1961, was an animated television series crafted by Crawley Films for Videocraft, (later known as Rankin/Bass Productions.) This was the studio's second venture into animation and Rankin/Bass's inaugural foray into traditional animation. Characters from L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz are given additional names, including Dandy the Cowardly Lion, Rusty the Tin Man, and Socrates the Strawman, expanding upon the original with these fresh monikers.
