The story of Lebanon is one of ongoing tragedy. A march of follies orchestrated by heads of state, sects, and militias. The Palestinians, French, British, Iranians, Syrians, Americans, Israelis and the Lebanese themselves, have all, at one point or another, contributed to the country's tragic history. Caught up in the chaos were the Lebanese themselves - made up of different sects, religions, and ethnicities - writing their own history in a string of political assassinations, massacres, and betrayals.

After the first Lebanon War in 1982, Israel set up a security zone in south Lebanon and for a full generation of soldiers the IDF was there, with its best troops, fighting Hizbullah and Palestinian terrorists to protect Israel from attack. Tens of thousands of Israelis served there, hundreds of soldiers were killed and more wounded. And yet, this was a conflict without a name.

The three episodes of this limited series deal with three events in the center of Prime Minister Begin: The peace agreement with Egypt, changes in the economic-social field, and the Lebanon war, during which he declared that he could no longer go on and retired.
