Trap House (2025)

An undercover DEA agent and his partner embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious, and surprising group of thieves - their own rebellious teenagers, who have begun robbing from a dangerous cartel, using their parents' tactics and top-secret intel to do it.

Franchise Intentions: Dave Bautista envisioned Trap House as the start of a franchise, with the focus shifting to the younger cast in potential sequels. He wanted the first film to establish the kids and their relationships, setting them up to be the main characters moving forward.
Thoughtful Casting: Bautista emphasized that the casting process for the teenage characters was very deliberate. The team invested in actors like Whitney Peak and Jack Champion, believing they would become huge stars and carry the franchise.
Origin of the Idea: The original idea for Trap House came from one of Dave Bautista's friends who works for the NSA and has a background in law enforcement. The friend shared an idea about DEA agents and their kids robbing money from their parents. Bautista liked the idea of kids robbing drug dealers that their parents were investigating.
Director's Previous Work: Director Michael Dowse is known for his work on comedies like Fubar and Goon. He also directed Stuber, another action comedy.
On-Set Bonding: Dave Bautista and Jack Champion bonded quickly, as they were from the same "neck of the woods" and both were getting into boxing. They trained together before filming, which helped them to get to know each other better.
