Red Eye (2024)

London police officer DC Hana Li is escorting Dr Matthew Nolan back to Beijing where he has been accused of a crime. However, on board flight 357, she finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy and a growing number of murders.

Real Plane Magic: The scenes set on the plane weren't filmed on a purpose-built set. The production team used a real plane, which presented challenges in terms of camera movement and space.
Airport Improv: During filming at Stansted Airport (doubling as Heathrow), Richard Armitage had to perform a scene where his character tries to alert people to his arrest. While some background actors were planted, many were real passengers, leading to some unscripted reactions and a "violent flashmob" feel.
From DC to DCI: Jing Lusi and Lesley Sharp, who play DC Hana Li and MI5 Director General Madeline Delaney respectively, previously worked together on Scott and Bailey, where Sharp played Lusi's DCI.
Vegan Doctor: Richard Armitage's character, Dr. Matthew Nolan, is a vegan. This seemingly small detail adds a layer to the character, though it isn't heavily emphasized in the plot.
Flightplan Connection: Peter A. Dowling, the writer for Red Eye, also wrote the film Flightplan. Richard Armitage noted that Red Eye felt like an extended version of that movie.
